Andreas Herrlich, M.D./ PhD

Dr. Herrlich was born in Germany and went to Medical School in Berlin and Heidelberg. He graduated in 1998 with an MD PhD and went to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore where he was an intern, resident and chief resident in Internal Medicine. In 2002 he joined the Nephrology fellowship program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. During this time, he did postdoctoral training in the lab of Harvey Lodish at the Whitehead Institute in Cambridge, MA.  

He started his own research program and moved to the Harvard Institutes of Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School in 2010. In 2016 he was recruited to Washington University in St. Louis, where he is a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine.
